When i enable my network it just starts sending lots of packets and it
sends more than it recieves, ive done a virus check with a program
called stinger but i didn't find anything, can you please help me????!

That is normal traffic on the internet.

hello eveybody,
is it possible that some amiga files/archives may be infected by win
viruses/troyans if i download, unarc and look them on a win pc computer
infected ? would those archives/files be corrupted/unusable on amiga
computer ?

Sorry for the late reply. BUT non of the Amiga antivirus programs can
find and detect any Windows viruses, and why should they ??
A Windows virus CAN NOT run under Amiga workbench system.

HI ppl,
first I have to say you all do a great work
Here my problem:
I tried checking files with VirusExecutor and VirusZ. On both I got a
crash.
After the `register xad or xfd?` -requester appears and click ok no
files will be checkt. It shows like "....." or similar. After some
time the miggy crashes.
Do I something wrong or can someone help me ?

what OS version you use. Please write it here !!
XAD is not a demand for the AV programs, but it is a very good idear to
use XAD. Xfd is a demand, and you dont need to register XFD.

Hi Dax,
... If you have the scanner stuff from Ronald van Dijk installed,
rename/remove them. This suggestion from Dirk Stoecker worked for
me when having crashes etc. with both VirusExecutor and VirusZ.
The files to rename or remove are the a) xfd-xad b) xfdScan found
in your libs: directory. You will need to do a shell command of
'avail flush' (no quotes) or reboot your Amiga.
... Check that you have the latest versions of the libs and programs.
xfdmaster.library is at v1.37/39.14, xadmaster.library is at v12.0,
and the xvs.library is at v33.39.
... Still do a post with what Jan has requested. ie what Amiga U are
using, and what OS version you use..

myself. If Xad is disabled for file scanning all works fine. So Xad
is the devil ;D This is only chooseable for VirusZ and not for
VirusExecutor.

... VirusExecutor uses Xad to unpack LhA+ archives. Since you want to
(in essence) 'disable Xad for file scanning', then you would make sure
that the Prefs option 'Extract archives', does 'not' have a tick beside
it. I'm presuming you have the latest version of VirusExecutor which is
2.28, with the new prefs setup.
... Suggestion: If you are finding Xad such a hinderence (quote: "So
Xad is the devil ;D"), then just delete it from your system. Then, when
you run VE, a message box will come up saying you cannont unarchive
LhA+ files, and that the Prefs option for unpacking, is now disabled.
... Personally, I find the Xad system fantastic, especially when using
it's GUI called Voodoo-X :))

You are right, but this is a "free-service forum", and we would have

I don't mind the pop ups, it's an annoyance thats worth the trouble
for me. Though, I would think that banner ads would serve the
providers better. I completely ignore popups, but I *might* give a
tasteful banner advert a second look.
